Fiona has over 12 years experience in organisational and interpersonal communications, as a workplace educator and facilitator. As a facilitator, Fiona is highly skilled in creating environments in which participants are able to reflect, analyse and contribute in meaningful and honest ways. She leads participants to probe beneath the surface of their reflex reactions, to uncover the mental models from which they are operating. She uses her interpersonal competencies and conflict resolution skills to negotiate agreements between different stakeholder and factional groups, to resolve issues on which future cooperation is required.

Fiona was CEO of Resolution Institute, the major professional organisation for dispute resolvers, and has previously served as Vice Chair of the LEADR national Board, and on the Executive of the NSW Chapter, including as Chapter Chair. Her previous experience includes 12 years consultancy in interpersonal and organisational communications, teaching Social Interaction in the Bachelor of Communications degree at the University of Western Sydney and co-authoring the Conflict Resolution Network Trainers' Manual.

She has been a member of Mediators Beyond Borders, and was a delegate to the UNFCCC climate change conference, in Copenhagen Dec 2010.

Fiona has managerial experience in public relations, community organisation, and client advocacy. In these roles, Fiona used her interpersonal competencies and conflict resolution skills to negotiate agreements between different stakeholder and factional groups, to develop policy and represent client groups to government. Fiona managed the efforts and rivalries of state branch staffs and the partner organisation to design, launch and implement a very successful national project for a major health organisation. Fiona has also worked as a consultant with the Conflict Resolution Network Consulting Group (CRNCG) for eight years. CRNCG is Australia’s leading consulting firm in providing services for managing conflict within corporate and government organisations.

Fiona has facilitated teams, work based learning groups, community organisations and community consultation meetings. Fiona uses her interpersonal competencies and conflict resolution skills to negotiate agreements between different stakeholder and factional groups, to develop policy and represent client groups.  Fiona has managed the efforts and rivalries of state branch staffs and their partner organisation to design, launch and implement a very successful national project for a major health organisation. 

Fiona has expertise in teaching and practising conflict resolution, negotiation, grievance management, leadership, customer service, effective communications and team participation for a broad variety of organisations.  She is co-author of the Conflict Resolution Network Trainers' Manual.  Fiona has also taught Social Interaction in the Bachelor of Communications degree at the University of Western Sydney and worked as a consultant with the Conflict Resolution Network Consulting Group (CRNCG) for eight years.

Fiona’s approach is characterised by high responsiveness to client needs, flexibility and an ability to negotiate appropriate expectations. Her written proposals and reports are clear and comprehensive.  Most of Fiona's contracts are repeat work from previous satisfied clients.
